Merrilee Harrell is of Counsel to LeGros Buchanan & Paul, joining the Firm in 2016. She has represented employers and carriers in workers' compensation matters since 2001, with a particular emphasis on Medicare Secondary Payer issues, including CMS review of workers’ compensation settlements, conditional payment recovery, and "Section 111" Mandatory Insurer Reporting. Merrilee is also involved in the Firm’s maritime and Longshore practice areas.
Merrilee obtained her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law (2001), where she was editor of Alaska Supreme Court News (2001), and Washington Supreme Court News (2000), for the school’s case summary notification service, Willamette Law Online. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (magna cum laude), and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington.
Merrilee is admitted to practice law in Alaska (2001) and Washington (2007). Based in our Anacortes office, Merrilee is an active member of the Skagit County Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Skagit County Law Library. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling and reading.
